Safe and secure

As an e-money institution, it’s our responsibility to fully protect your personal and financial information, so we use a number of state-of-the-art security measures – because you can’t put a price on peace of mind.

Leading security and fraud solutions

Rest assured, we’ll never share your details or disclose your payment methods with third parties. Plus, we’ll keep hackers out of your account and protect you from viruses and spyware. Not on our watch…

Tried and
tested

We use a process known as safeguarding – a regulatory requirement for all e-money institutions – which means we keep your money separate from our own. An independent third party expert checks that we’re meeting these obligations every year and issues a report, available to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on request.

By the book

We operate using the highest standards of data security and encryption, while complying with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Data Security Standards (DSS). On top of that, we’re also authorised and regulated by various financial market supervisors.

Smart tech

Log into the Payz app using fingerprint ID or facial recognition, and for added security, you can have two-factor authentication (2FA). What’s more, any online purchases made using the Payz Mastercard are protected by 3D Secure for an extra layer of protection.

Additional security features

Keep an eye on your transactions with instant push notifications, and adjust your security settings quickly and easily online or using the Payz app. This means you can freeze and unfreeze your card, set spending limits, and even disable contactless payments, in-store/online transactions and ATM withdrawals. And if you forget your PIN, you can get that too.

Stay safe

You can also help to protect yourself from online scams and phishing emails by following a few simple guidelines.

  1. Create a secure password that combines letters, numbers and special characters, and NEVER share it with anyone. It’s also a good idea to update it on a regular basis.

  2. Check the URL is secure. When you log in, make sure the address bar starts with https://. The s stands for secure. There may also be a padlock symbol in the address bar, and in certain browsers, it may turn green if the website is properly encrypted.

  3. It sounds obvious, but be sure to always sign out – especially when using public devices.
